Join our lifesaving team! Our shelter is a moderately sized open intake government -based shelter that services a fast-growing South Carolina community in the suburbs of Charlotte, North Carolina. 

The Animal Services Operations Manager is integral to ensuring our shelter is able to best meet the needs of not only our pet residents, but our community as well. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
Assists the Animal Services Director to plan, direct, and supervise the operations and personnel of the Shelter operations division. Ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and standards of quality and safety.
Maintains shelter records and inventory.
Maintains animal health, evaluate behavior, monitor capacity, while working with the Animal Services Director and Veterinarian for health issues and capacity issues.
Administers “managed intake” program for Owner release animals.
Markets animals available for adoption and rescue through various social media outlets. Facilitate approval of rescue groups and coordinate appropriate placement and transfer of animals 
Works with Management staff to identify and implement long-range programs and regularly review policies and procedures. 
Works with fosters, volunteers and management to coordinate the foster program, train volunteers, and increase volunteer opportunities. 
Responds to citizen concerns about animals under care.
Conducts euthanasia of animals for injured, medical or behavior. 
Operates county owned motor vehicle to attend adoption events, transport animals, and/or assist with onsite locations. 
Performs related work as assigned.
Required Education and Experience: 
Associate’s Degree.
Three (3) years of Supervisory related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in an animal shelter, clinic, or kennel.
