- Conduct spay/neuter surgeries, dental procedures, mass removals, and other routine surgeries.
- Monitor shelter population health and manage infectious disease concerns.
- Provide medical guidance for foster animals and rescue partners.
- Mentor veterinary technicians and assistants while supporting a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain accurate medical records and follow established medical protocols, ASV Guidelines, and Fear Free principles.

You're a Great Fit If You...
- Hold a DVM (or equivalent) with an active Florida veterinary license.
- Have strong surgical skills, including canine and feline spay/neuter.
- Are experienced with—or willing to perform—basic dentistry and extractions.
- Are comfortable working with fearful, fractious, or feral animals.
- Understand (or are eager to learn) shelter medicine and population health principles.
- Hold, or are willing to obtain, Fear Free Shelter Certification.
- Communicate effectively and enjoy collaborating with diverse teams.
- Are passionate about animal welfare and HSSC's lifesaving mission.
