The Position Duties:
In this role, you will be responsible for the mental well-being of our shelter animals by monitoring temperaments and documenting behavioral progress. You will also oversee daily enrichment programs, mentor staff and volunteers on safe handling techniques, and provide pre-adoption counseling to ensure successful, lifelong matches for pets with specific needs.

In addition to housing support, Mountain Humane provides 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Our team members enjoy generous PTO, a 403(b) retirement account with a 3% match, and professional development funding. You will also benefit from reduced-cost veterinary care and an annual pet care allowance.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has at least one year of professional animal training or behavior experience, preferably in a shelter setting. You should have expertise in humane, reward-based training methods and possess strong communication skills. While not required, certification through CCPDT, KPA, or IAABC is highly preferred.
