Job Description

San Diego Humane Society is hiring a full-time Behavior and Training (B&T) Supervisor at our San Diego Campus (40 hours/week). This role supervises B&T staff and leads behavior program operations, including assessments for program enrollment, behavior intervention planning, case assignment and progress oversight, coordination with Animal Services/leadership on housing and care needs, and support for pets transitioning to adoption and into the home. The position also includes case reviews and recommendations for animals not progressing, including participation in leadership decisions that may include humane euthanasia. 

Starting range is between $29.61 – $32.61 per hour.

Requirements include an associate’s degree in a related field (or equivalent coursework), CPDT-KA or equivalent certification (or an advanced degree in animal behavior), and 3 years of full-time paid animal experience in a kennel, shelter, or veterinary environment (or equivalent combination of education/experience). Prior supervisory experience is preferred. Must be able to handle the physical and emotional demands of shelter work, including euthanasia, obtain SDHS Certified Euthanasia Technician certification within 12 months, and have a valid driver’s license and be insurable for work-related driving.
