Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday from 9:00am – 6:00pm

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Print canine foster applications daily

· Assist in coordinating and completing canine foster animal pick-ups and drop offs

· Provide excellent customer service to pet parents and potential canine fosters.

· Match canine foster families with appropriate canines foster animals based on their skills and living environment.

· Assure that all canine foster volunteers receive the necessary training and support to perform their foster care responsibilities.

· Provide ongoing assistance, coaching, and moral support to canine foster families.

· Respond to emails and phone calls from pet and canine foster parents within a timely manner on workdays.

· Approve or deny canine foster applications.

· Actively recruit new canine foster families.

· Maintain an organized, accessible list of canine foster families, availability, and contact information for all foster families.

· Must be comfortable with working with animals in your office space.

· Maintain canine foster files and documentation of canine foster applications.

· Work directly with the Director of Operations to evaluate and identify canines that are candidates for the foster program.

· Work directly with the Shelter Medicine Director to determine appropriate medical treatment needed for canine foster animals.

· Report any canine foster family concerns to the appropriate medical treatment needed for foster animals.

· Report any foster family concerns to the appropriate staff member.

· Schedule vaccines and medication pickup as needed with foster families.

· Maintain and track supplies for foster program.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

· Must be comfortable with dogs

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· This position prefers the applicant to have at least one year of experience working or volunteering for an animal welfare organization.

· Ability to communicate with the public and co-workers in a professional, pleasant, courteous, tactful, and effective manner always.

· Ability to learn various breed identifications of dogs and cats.

· Computer skills in Windows including Word, Excel, Power Point, Pet Point.

Social media skills and graphic design are highly desirable.
Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
