The Brandywine Valley SPCA is seeking a dynamic, innovative Chief Marketing Officer with senior leadership experience and a track record of delivering breakthrough results in a marketing role. The Brandywine Valley SPCA is one of the fastest growing animal welfare organizations in the country with an already established reputation in the MidAtlantic region. Although our footprint is ever-expanding, we currently service Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and DC regions while caring for nearly 30,000 animals annually. The Chief Marketing Officer will be responsible for developing a strategy to increase our brand awareness nationwide, driving our overall marketing strategy, and increasing organizational visibility through unique campaigns and public relations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer to develop and/or elevate the organization’s strategic marketing direction and decisions with an emphasis on brand awareness on a national level.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive branding and rebranding strategy, including brand architecture, positioning, and visual identity, and lead cross-channel execution to establish a clear, scalable path toward national brand recognition.
- Develops Key Performance Indicators to measure marketing effectiveness.
- Ensures all marketing efforts are consistent with the organization’s brand voice and identity.
- Lead the digital brand and marketing strategy to expand our national reach, engagement, and conversion across paid and earned channels. Including web, social media, content marketing, email, SEO/SEM, and emerging digital platforms.
- Monitors market trends and similar organizational activities to refine the organization’s brand positioning and messaging.
- Leads the organization’s branding initiative, marketing strategies, programs and campaigns with a keen eye on delivering tangible and elevated results.
- Conducts and analyzes market research to evaluate target customer base; utilizes the information to make informed strategic decisions.
- Evaluates and refines customer retention programs, loyalty initiatives, and customer relationship management strategies.
- Manages a robust Marketing team through a collaborative, results-driven culture.
- Works with the Development team to support and elevate fundraising initiatives.
- Monitors departmental expenditures and ensure cost effectiveness in all marketing initiatives while staying within organizational budgets.
- Ensures marketing team works collaboratively with other departments to ensure brand messaging is represented at every level of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-motivated and able to independently prioritize opportunities based on ROI
- Outstanding verbal and written skills with strong attention to detail
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
- Demonstrated track record of differentiated tangible results delivered through innovative marketing strategies, programs and campaigns
- Proven success raising an organization’s profile through brand development
- Strong business acumen
- Senior leadership experience
- Supervisory experience required
- College degree, preferably in non-profit management or a related field such as marketing, communications, public relations, or business and a minimum of 8 years of proven successful experience in non-profit marketing 

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Indoors in air-conditioned/heated office, outdoors at shelter or on-location for various activities.
Work Hours:
o Regular work hours are Monday to Friday, a minimum of 45 hours per week.
o Some evening and weekend hours may be required, especially when hosting special events
o Will be required to maintain availability when away from the shelter as directed by the CEO.
