Job Description

As Shelter Veterinarian at Madison Cat Project, you will be at the forefront of transforming the lives of cats and the community. This position combines your passion for feline care with your desire to bring affordable veterinary services to those in need.

Responsibilities:

- Comprehensive Feline Care: Provide medical and surgical care to our shelter cats, ensuring their well-being and happiness and helping to move forward to adoption.

- Public Program Management: With the help of current staff and our board of directors, develop and run a low-cost veterinary services program for basic wellness and surgical needs, creating a supportive and inclusive environment for pet owners in the community.

- Education and Outreach: Share your knowledge and expertise with the community, helping cat owners become better caregivers and helping develop programs to benefit owned and community cats alike. One of our goals is to develop a TNR program, which will require outreach to help the community understand the benefits of this program.

- Collaboration: Work closely with a dedicated team of cat enthusiasts, volunteers, and fellow veterinary staff to create a positive and nurturing environment for cats both in our care at the shelter as well as within the community.

Qualifications:

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.

- Wisconsin veterinary license or the ability to obtain a Wisconsin veterinary license.

- A love for cats and a desire to make a difference in their lives.

- Ability to perform 20 spay-neuters a day or willingness to work up to that capacity

Compensation & Benefits:

- Competitive salary range of $100,000 - $120,000 based on experience
