Three attendees enjoy an Expo workshop

I am a…

  • Shelter employee/Rescue worker

Did you say shelter or rescue? You are speaking our language!  We have more Animal Care Expo attendees working in shelters and rescues than any other field in animal welfare. If you’re looking for your people, Expo is  where you’ll find them. And with a track centered on Shelter Operations, plus Community Engagement, Progressive Programs and more, there is something for everyone

  • Veterinarian Practitioner or Vet Technician

Looking for AAVSB RACE CEs? We’ve got you covered. Each year Expo has  20-30 workshops and Learning Labs approved for CE credits, including topics for both the medical and non-medical categories. You can stick to workshops in our veterinary medicine track or check out some of the several approved workshops scattered across the other eleven educational tracks.

  • Animal control or law enforcement officer

Expo proudly features an entire workshop track dedicated to field services. From human-wildlife conflict to triage for large-scale intakes, you’ll find plenty of topics relevant to the work you do on a daily basis. We also offer National Animal Care and Control Association continuing education credits for all Expo workshops.

  • Wildlife rehabilitator

If your passion is wildlife or you work in animal welfare, and encounter wildlife but you struggle to find wildlife content,  Expo is  looking to change that. Curious what’s in store for you at Expo? Check out our Spotlight on Wildlife workshops for 2026.

  • Animal advocate/interested newbie

Welcome to the animal welfare community! If you’re still finding your path, Expo’s more than 100 workshops and Learning Labs allow you the chance to explore any topic that piques your interest. Beyond the educational workshops, you’ll find countless opportunities to make connections, build a network and learn about the work being done from experts in the field. Our expansive exhibit hall features almost 150 vendors offering unique products and services, and our Round Table Networking sessions will allow you to connect more directly with individuals through small group discussions on the topics most of interest to you. If you want a holistic view of the field and the people who work in it, Expo’s exactly what you need.

Am I at the right point in my career for Expo? Or what if I am a volunteer?

The Expo program is designed to cater to animal welfare volunteers and professionals at all levels and includes both foundational and more advanced workshops across all twelve topic tracks. When you’re at Expo, you’ll encounter everyone from volunteers to executive directors and beyond. Whether you’re looking for basic career skills like how to have difficult conversations or you’re looking to lead a multigenerational workforce, we’ve got content for you.

What’s in it for me?

Where do we start? Expo offers:

My organization has a limited budget for professional development.

Animal welfare is all about stretching small budgets to go a long way and Expo is no different. Expo is proud to be one of the lowest-priced conferences in this field, despite expanding over four days and serving several meals to all attendees.

Along with the already low registration price, you’ll find additional opportunities for further discounts and savings including a $50 savings if you register by our advance registration deadline (February 5, 2026), social media contests and promotions, group registration discounts and an amazing volunteer discount for anyone willing to volunteer for four or more hours at the conference.

If you need additional help convincing your employer that Expo is worth the expense, be sure to check out this page.
