Hotel and travel information
Check the speaker confirmation email you received for information on booking your hotel room. If you cannot find your confirmation email contact krakovan@humanesociety.org. For general information on Animal Care Expo accomodations visit our Hotel & Travel page.

Can I find out how many people are attending my session?
During the registration process, attendees are asked to select the sessions they plan to attend, although they may change their minds when onsite. Unfortunately, we have found the registration numbers do not necessarily reflect the number of attendees that actually attend a session. If you would like the number of peoople who have registered for your session please email krakovan@humanesociety.org.
-
How will the meeting room be setup and what audiovisual equipment is available to me?
Rooms will be set either classroom or theater. Session rooms are assigned based on capacity and anticipated attendance. We cannot guarantee the type of set-up that will be in your specific session. The following will also be provided: head table and chairs, tabletop microphone with stand, podium, one wireless lavalier microphone, one laptop computer, one wireless PowerPoint remote and laser pointer. Each room will also have available a LCD player (for PowerPoint presentations), one screen, two wireless microphones in aisles for Q&A, a whiteboard and markers. Internet will not be available so please download any videos or sound clips prior to arrival.
-
How should I set up my PowerPoint?
PowerPoints should be created in 16:9 widescreen format. You do not have to use a specific PowerPoint template but if there is more than one speaker for your session we encourage you to use the same PowerPoint template for cohesion.
-
Will my presentation be pre-loaded in the room before I arrive?
No. It is your responsibility to bring the presentation on a thumb drive or CD and load it on the provided laptop computer prior to the start of your session. Technicians will be available if you need assistance. You may load your presentation in the morning on the day you are presenting before any of the sessions begin. If you bring a MAC computer, you must also provide the appropriate dongle. It is strongly recommended that all speakers bring their presentation on a thumb drive to minimize technology issues and time to get your presentations up and running.
-
Will The HSUS be providing handouts?
Handouts will be available to attendees on animalsheltering.org prior to the conference. Speakers must submit their handouts via the online form no later than April 13, 2020.
-
What should I do when I arrive at the conference?
Check in at the HSUS registration counter during registration hours and pick up your name badge. You are not required to be anywhere until your scheduled session(s) so feel free to attend and enjoy the conference.
-
What if I need assistance onsite?
If you need assistance during your session please ask the room monitor, who will introduce themselves to you before the session begins. If you need general assistance at any other time, please go to the Expo registration counter. For speaking-related issues, please contact Krista Rakovan at 614-205-8100 or krakovan@humanesociety.org.
-
After my session, can I review the session evaluations that attendees complete?
