Partnering with Native American agencies and communities
This presentation addresses ways to center Indigenous communities in animal welfare work by breaking down the current systems that are fundamentally flawed and rebuilding by embracing values of reciprocity and respect. Hear from service providers and Indigenous perspectives about the barriers to pet resources as well as effective strategies to remove those barriers in partnership with native-led agencies. We will discuss current community-based programs and the importance of collaboration.
